I'm g...OMG, that DOES look like an Umpaloompa! I'm glad you thought of that. Whenever I see brocade-esque shapes, my brain goes to the short story "The Yellow Wallpaper." That story disturbs the hell out of me. Of course, Umpaloompas are somewhat disturbing, too, but in a tolerably dignified, contemporary British way.
